Traditional MACD

Traditional MACD

MACD indicator in MetaTrader 4/5 differ from similar indicators in other programs. This is due to the fact that the version of MetaTrader 4/5 MACD line is displayed as a histogram, whereas traditionally it is displayed as a line. Also, in the version of MetaTrader 4/5 signal line is built using SMA, then by definition it must be built on the EMA. In the version of MetaTrader 4/5 also features a histogram (the difference between the MACD line and the signal line), it may be unusual for beginners to use MetaTrader 4/5, because a histogram displays the MACD line itself.

This indicator MACD shows the way the author intended it (Gerald Appel), as he shows in other programs. The MACD line is the difference between fast and slow EMA. The signal line is the EMA of the MACD line. MACD histogram represents the difference between the line and the signal line MACD (MACD histogram itself may be used to obtain signals of divergence).

Switches allow you to display / hide the MACD line, signal line and histogram.
