Scotiabank: speculative sentiment improved on the dollar for the first time in two mesyatsaValyutny market

As can be seen from the latest CFTC data, the week before August 15, was held under the sign of locking speculators profit for the loonie, the euro and kiwi, as well as accelerate the liquidation of short positions on the yen. As a result of these events, the amount of net Short dollar fell for the first time since mid-June, and speculative positioning in major currencies is as follows: Euro, Aussie, loonie, the Mexican peso and kiwi bought, sold the yen and the pound, the franc and the neutral.

For the first time since the end of May to the week, net sales were observed in the loonie (mostly closed long positions), but the volume of pure Long on it still remains high by historical standards.

Net sales EUR was also due to the liquidation of long positions, however, as in the situation with the loonie its net Long in the single currency remains high.
