The Central Bank of seeing more positive than the risks from higher Fed rates

The Central Bank of seeing more positive than the risks from higher Fed rates

Federezva decision to raise rates will bring the Russian market more than positive effects, rather than threats. This opinion is shared by the first deputy chairman of the Bank of Russia Sergei Shvetsov. According to him, the most entertaining is not what the rate was raised by 25 basis points, and that the Fed comment was a clear allusion to its growth by 1 basis point over the next year.

"It was a surprise, to be honest, for me it would be given a clear signal", - said Shvetsov.

On a par with this, he said that the Fed's decision could trigger a decline in investment of large funds in emerging markets.
